Following the Flying V and Explorer, the Firebird is a modified guitar that represents the 1960s.
Unlike electric guitars made based on acoustic guitars up until the 1950s, it is famous for its unique structure, such as a through-neck and reverse head, and is said to be the first electric guitar that Gibson designed from scratch. It may not be an exaggeration.
I believe it is most famously used by Million Dollar Guitarist Johnny Winter.

The Firebird originally had variations such as I, III, V, VII, and non-reverse, but various derivative models have been created in later years.
Since the 1990s, Firebird has been released as an entry to middle class model, and is still popular in the Studio series.

What makes this model different from other studios is that it has its own unique specs, rather than keeping the standard specs at a low price.
Equipped with a set neck and full-size humbucker, it is easy to use even in the modern music scene.
In addition, it has many unique specifications and parts, such as rounded body edges and the shape of the pickguard, which shows that it was not just a low-priced model, but a model with a lot of spirit.

Only the early model uses a reverse head, and the traditional stepped design is still intact! This is important because it has a great influence on the bright and delicate unique sound.
This initial version is also known to have been used on stage & studio by Dave Grohl of FOO FIGHTERS and Jim Root of SLIPKNOT / STONE SOUR, making it a valuable item for fans.
