Dynacord entered the age of Digital Drums with the introduction of their “Percuter” in 1984.

With less than 2000 pieces sold, the vintage Percuter is a real rarity today. The Percuter is an 8 track digital drum computer and at the time was Germany's answer to a Simmons 'brain'.

The fact that it is not as well known as the Simmons means it has kept its own unique sound. It has 8 inputs, which trigger sounds stored on interchangeable cartridges (see pictures below) each has its own pitch control .

You don’t need a drum kit to trigger the Percuter, I tested it with a sustain pedal and you could use any percussive sound sent via a sequencer or synth to one of the eight inputs to trigger a sound. The unit has eight outputs for each sound plus a separate stereo output and headphone socket.

The sounds on the cartridges are very different and very usable, they could easily be used ,with great effect, to add a splash of colour to a mix.
Ideal for the producer or recording musician who wants to create and retain a unique sound I.D.

Drumcomputer, welcher in der Lage ist, u.a. auch mit BOOMER erstellte Drumcards zu lesen (indirekter Sampler). Was der Zusatz "S" bedeutet, ist mir noch nicht bekannt. Der PERCUTER-S arbeitet mit acht Kanälen. Jedem Kanal kann ein Soundmodul (Karte mit dem entsprechenden und vom BOOMER brennbaren ROM-Chip) zugeordnet werden. Der Stückpreis dieser Module lag seinerzeit bei ca. 90,- DM. Pro Kanal stehen noch weitere Einstellmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung: Triggereingangsempfindlichkeit, Stimmung und Lautstärke, sowie für alle acht Kanäle gemeinsam die Gesamtstimmung und Gesamtlautstärke. Mit dem BIG BRAIN wird der PERCUTER MIDI-fähig und kann wie ein normaler Drumcomputer programmiert werden
