Son équilibre, sa finition impeccable et sa sensation de solidité rivalisent sans rougir avec des instruments deux à trois fois plus coûteux.. Mais là où elle gagne vraiment son statut, c’est quand on la branche. Le sustain est presque stupéfiant : une simple montée d’accords laisse vibrer les notes pendant ce qui semble bien plus longtemps que sur la plupart des guitares dans cette gamme de prix. Que vous frappiez un power chord ou que vous laissiez un bend se déployer, le son ne s’éteint pas, il respire, il continue d’exister. C’est typiquement ce qu’on attend d’une Les Paul haut de gamme, et cette Epiphone l’accomplit avec une musicalité surprenante. Les humbuckers Alnico Classic donnent un spectre tonal riche et plein. Le son est chaud, sans être boueux, avec une présence naturelle des médiums qui fait chanter les accords et donne de la clarté aux solos. En clair, elle a de la profondeur tonale, ce qui ressort aussi bien sur un clean brillant que sur une saturation plus agressive. On pourrait presque l’imaginer sortie d’une usine Gibson tant elle capture l’esprit et le grain caractéristiques d’une Les Paul plus haut de gamme. Le manche en acajou collé et la touche en palissandre offrent quant à eux une jouabilité fluide et instinctive. Il invite à jouer, à improviser, à explorer. On sent que l’outil est conçu pour le musicien, pas seulement pour être beau. Chaque changement de position se fait sans effort, et l’équilibre entre confort et fermeté donne confiance, même pour des passages rapides. En résumé, cette Les Paul Standard est l’exemple même d’un instrument qui dépasse sa catégorie. Elle flotte élégamment entre tradition et performance, avec une finition digne d’une plus onéreuse et un caractère sonore qui ferait pâlir plus d’un modèle bien plus cher. Pour un guitariste sérieux qui veut le son, la présence, le sustain et la sensation d’une vraie Les Paul sans se ruiner, c’est une vraie révélation. Vends Epiphone Sheraton II Très bon état, toujours conservée dans sa housse, très peu servie.
