Publié le 29/12/12 à 09:15 (contenu en anglais)The Electro Voice ND967 is a dynamic vocal microphone that rejects feedback and does a great job with external noise. This mic is made for live performances giving you a crystal clear sound with crisp highs warm lows and smooth mids. No matter what kind of vocalist is behind this microphone you will get a great sound out of it. This mic is made for vocals and not for instruments, we did a test run with it on instruments and it was awful. It was decent with some percussion instruments but I would not recommend it for anything else.
OVERALL OPINION
This microphone has a low profile grille, which will put your singer’s voice right on the microphone giving the sharpest and highest quality sound. You will get a very full and rich sound with this mic no matter where you are, though it is a live mic you can still record with it and you will see just how good it is. It has kind of become more of an all around microphone for us; we have been using it for a while and just will not get rid of it because it has worked well in so many different environments for us.
I have heard that this microphone is not made to well though, we have not had any bad experiences with it but I have heard that if you drop it you can forget about it working again. Which is not good news considering the price of this mic. The ND967 is also not the prettiest microphone that I have seen or used, it would have been nice if they made it a little more presentable for live shows.
It is very comfortable in your hand though and I guess that is more important for some people. You can also clean this microphone easily by removing the mesh grille which is a good idea to do because this microphone is designed to be up close to the singer’s mouth. So you will need to clean it after each use.
