Alors pour commencer je tiens à vous prévenir que c'est mon premier octaver. Nous ne sommes que deux dans notre groupe (guitare batterie) et sur certains morceaux on avait besoin d'un peu de gras, nous voila servis!!
Déjà c'est une très jolie pédale, des LED un peu partout mais pas éblouissantes du tout.
Les possibilités: octave -1, octave -2, octafuzz +1. Il y a la possibilité de les activer tout les trois en même temps. Ce qui m'a marqué c'est la finesse des réglages, toute la course des potards est exploitable (suivant ce que l'on veut entendre bien sûr), c'est très agréable. Il y a des réglages internes à la pédale. Volume de l'octave +1 et gain du fuzz. On peut avoir une palette...…

Je ne sais pas si elle est mieux qu'une autre, en tout cas moi je la trouve très bien.

EDIT: J'ai essayé d'autres octavers, la MOAI MAEA a vraiment un caractère et une puissance que d'autres n'ont pas. C'est vraiment une pédale excellente.

OCTAVER

For thousand of years they tower over the green meadows along the coast and the hillside of Rapa Nui. Moai Maea, silent and solemn - venerated and mystified by a long forgotten ancient culture. It will let you feel the droning and shrieking of the mighty erupting Rano Raraku where the Moai Maea was born.

Moai Maea is KMA Audio Machines' answer to long forgotten analog octaver sounds to generate a huge wall of sound by playing just one note. It generates one higher octave and up to two sub-octaves. The higher octave has an edgy and fuzzy character which is reminis- cent of old seventy octave up sounds like Hendrix or The Stooges. The sub-octaves turn your guitar into a filthy bass guitar with groundshaking lows. We added a sub-octave mode switch for more versatility. Choose between either the first (-I), the second (-II) or both together (-I/-II), which gives you the sought-after wall of sound.

The Moai gives you the possibility to create an individual mix of each generated octave and the original signal. To expand your soundscapes we added a serial bufferd FX-Loop at the clean path with a phase inverter to avoid phase cancelation when it comes to signal mixing. Each octave section is footswitchable. You can turn on and off the higher octave by jumping on the SHRIEK switch and the sub-octave by the DRONE switch.

Every pedal is designed, assembled, silkscreened, tested and numbered by hand in our small workshop. We use external manufactured PCBs to guarantee our high quality standard and keep the price of our pedals reasonable. The use of an indestructible powdercoated die-cast enclosure ensures a maximum durability.

 

Controls:

  • OC +1

    Controls the amount of the high octave

  • OC -1

    Controls the amount of the first sub-octave

  • OC -2

    Controls the amount of the second sub-octave

  • Sub-Mode Switch

    -I activates only the first sub-octave
    -II activates only the second sub-octave
    -I/-II engages both sub-octaves

  • Clean

    Controls the amount of your dry signal

Internal Controls:

  • Left Trimpot

    Sets the maximum volume of the higher octave

  • Right Trimpot

    Sets the amount of fuzzieness of the higher octave

  • Dip Switch

    Phase inverting switch for the FX-Loop
