Unzip all the files into their own folders.

Power off and disconnect the mains lead from your MPC3000.

Familiarize yourself with all pictures before proceeding.

1: Look at the pictures in the "screws" download file.

Remove the screws as shown already removed/circled in red.

Once the screws are removed, your MPC3000 top panel can be tilted open.

An assistant would be of use at this point to assist with keeping the
front panel held open while you work on the MPC3000 ROM upgrade process.

2: Familiarize yourself with the internal layout of your MPC3000 by
looking at the pictures in the "open" download file.

3: Familiarize yourself with the pictures present in the "Remove"
download file.

Remove the existing EPROMs by gently inserting a FLAT BLADE screwdriver
between the ROM to be removed and it's respective EPROM socket.

Make certain the screw driver is inserted in between the EPROM and
SOCKET ( and NOT the SOCKET and CIRCUIT BOARD !!! )... This point might
seem fairly obvious ... You understand why I have to say it though.

Twist a little at each end, bit by bit, slowly lifting by levering each
EPROM from its respective socket.

Once the old EPROM chips are loose enough you can pull them out by hand.

4: Familiarize yourself with pictures present in the "Fit" download
file.

Handle the EPROM'S by their ceramic body and try not to touch the pins.

*** IMPORTANT *** IMPORTANT *** IMPORTANT ***

Make certain that each EPROM is:

A: correctly fitted with the direction dot as shown.

B: correctly fitted with all pins in their respective socket
receptacles.

C: in the correct sockets.

Important to note the metaphor of "measure twice and cut once".

NOTE: If the EPROM'S are installed with the direction dot the wrong way
around and power is applied...
... your MPC3000 could get damaged !!! ( Not good !!! )
... the EPROMS's will get toasted !!! ( Not good !!! )

So ... at the risk of sounding like I am repeating myself:

*** IMPORTANT *** IMPORTANT *** IMPORTANT ***

Make certain that each EPROM is:

A: correctly fitted with the direction dot as shown.

B: correctly fitted with all pins in their respective socket
receptacles.

C: in the correct sockets.

Fitting the ROMS will require a bit of downward "finger force" in order
to get them seated into their respective sockets.

5: Check that your new ROMS are installed as per the pictures shown in
the "FIT" download file. ( and per the ***IMPORTANT*** statements above
)

6: Familiarize yourself with pictures present in the "warning" download
file.

Make certain that the cable circled in red has not dislodged during the
front panel opening phase.

If all looks good.

Close the lid on your MPC3000, connect the power, power her up, go to
the "INIT ALL PARAMTERS" menu ( OTHER > INIT ), perform the re-init,
power down and then power back up again.

At this point you can power off one more time, re-fit the panel screws
and ... reboot .... then enjoy bangin out beats that only Vailixi will encourage ...

Take your time, work in well lighted area.
