HPA-2 – 2 Channel Headphone Amp
https://mtraudio.com/product/hpa-2-2-channel-headphone-amp/
The HPA-2 is derived from our 6 channel rackmounting HPA-6 Headphone Amplifier, using the same sonically excellent channel amplifier boards. It is a mains powered stand-alone unit with one stereo input feeding two stereo headphone stations, plus a mixable auxiliary stereo input and Fletcher-Munson ‘loudness’ boost.
Multiple units can be scattered around the studio at convenient spots, and can be quickly repositioned if needed. The Aux. input allows a musician with an electronic signal to feed this in and set his own level relative to the foldback. Also used by club DJ’s with mixers having an inadequate headphone amp.
Specifications are as the HPA-6 except the Loudness button, which gives 6dB boost at 160Hz and 10kHz.
As used by the BBC, Associated Press Television News, Television Systems Ltd (ITV Anglia, Tyne Tees, ITV West (Bristol), etc.

CONNECTIONS and OPERATION
Rear Panel: In the U.K., plug the 13 amp plug on the end of the power cord into a 13 amp power socket, and the other end into the IEC socket on the back of the unit. Outside the U.K., fit a suitable mains plug onto the end of the power cord. Switch on the unit using the rear panel on/off switch, the front panel led will glow red.
If the fuse blows, always replace with a fuse of the same value (220-240v, 0.5A. 110-120v, 1 Amp). If the fuse blows repeatedly, refer to qualified service personnel.
The Ground Lift switch is provided to eliminate safely hum due to an earth loop with other connected equipment. Slide the switch upwards if hum is heard when a jack plug is inserted into either input socket on the front panel.
Front Panel: Set all volumes to zero; plug the signal source into the stereo Input socket, and headphones (8 to 2000 Ohms impedance) into the Output sockets. Adjust the gain of the input socket to suit the programme material, and the level controls of the outputs to the desired volume.
Signals fed to the stereo Auxiliary input are added to the signal at the main Input. This socket is designed for things such as a click track, or for practising playing to existing recordings on a flash drive/ iPod / CD. This input is not affected by the Input Gain control or Loudness button - adjust the balance between the Main and Aux. signals by turning up or down the volume control on the flash drive / iPod / CD/ mp3 player.
The ‘Loudness’ button adds a gentle fixed boost to both the bass and treble frequencies (a ‘smiley face’), when this button is pushed the red Power led changes to green.
The Mono button combines left and right stereo signals into a mono signal at each headphone output.
