The Peavey Transtube 112 EFX is a tube based guitar combo amp that delivers about 100 watts of power and has a 1/4 inch input in the front to plug your guitar into. It has a few different sections in terms of parameters - there is a clean channel, an overdrive channel, and then another section for all types of effects including reverb, delay, and rotary.
UTILIZATION
The configuration of the Peavey Transtube 112 EFX is very easy to follow even though there are a good amount of parameters. The effect sections can sometimes be a bit confusing at first, but once you play with it a bit it won't take too long to get used to it. It is pretty easy to get a good sound from this, but if you are looking for a clean tone you have to shut off all of the effects as it will come on with effects on. I don't have a manual for the Peavey Transtube 112 EFX, but it is easy enough to use that you shouldn't need it if you don't have one.
SOUNDS
I have used the Peavey Transtube 112 EFX both for acoustic and electric guitar, both with good results. I usually use this amp with a Martin acoustic/electric guitar or a Fender Strat. While I am a fan of the clean signal from this amp, I'm not a huge fan of the overdrive or the built in effects. While they are okay, I have other options that I would much rather use than the effects from this amp.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the Peavey Transtube 112 EFX for about six months and have found it to be a good sounding amp that is probably suited best for live shows or practicing. It has a pretty warm tone to it, especially for an amp that won't cost you too much money. The effects are nice to have, if only even to just mess around with. Overall, the Peavey Transtube 112 EFX is a good amp for intermediate players.
