The Pearl CH-02 is a chorus pedal designed for electric guitar and any other electronic instrument. The pedal is very basic in make up as it has 1/4 inch connections and can be powered by either a 9 volt battery or power supply. The pedal is an analog one and isn't rackable as it is a foot pedal.
UTILIZATION
Using the Pearl CH-02 isn't complicated whatsoever as everything is easy to follow. The pedal has four knobs for mix balance, tone, depth, and speed. If you aren't familiar with these terms, I think the manual will help you out a bit, but can't say so for sure as I haven't seen it. I don't really think one is necessary anyway and that most will be able to figure out how to use this without problem.
SOUND QUALITY
The sound quality of the Pearl CH-02 is about average, but this isn't one of my favorite sounding chorus pedals out there. Pearl kind of has a mixed bag in terms of pedals, and the CH-02 is not one of their best. I've used it with a Fender Strat and a '76 Fender Twin Reverb, so I think I'm getting an accurate sound of what this pedal sounds like, but it lacks clarity and isn't different enough sounding for it to stray from the path of a standard chorus. While this will get the job done for practicing and maybe even to use sparingly for live shows, I wouldn't recommend recording with this pedal...
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, the Pearl CH-02 definitely wouldn't be my first recommendation for a chorus pedal. I just don't like the way it sounds as it doesn't sound realistic enough for my taste. I haven't seen too many of these pedals around, so I'm not exactly sure what these would go for but I don't think that it would be all that expensive. The only players that I think I would recommend this for would be those who are looking for their first chorus pedal and just wants to get their feet wet with experimentation with chorus effects.
