The 6 push button effects loops are labelled as:
Cancel Direct: obviously bypassing any effects loops
Fast Multi:
Delay 1:
Delay 2:
Delay 3:
Delay 4.
Dials on the right hand side of the unit are: "Bass" "Treble" "Swell" "Sustain" "Echo-Speed"
These control the tone of the input signal through the unit, the amount of the input signal to be used within the effects loop, sustain is self explanatory and echo-speed is the repetitions. Control of the sound created should be informed by the red 'overload' light on the front. This unit also has a footswitch input, which I presume allows bypass of the effects loops in use. There is a graphic on the back to demonstrate how to use the 'send/return' output of this unit, to introduce the unit into any other effects set-up.
The technical description of the IC 500 states:
"The IC 500 employs no less than 3 charge coupled devices where the normally acceptable echo unit would only use one. This provides the special feature of unequally staggered delay "heads" and allows the unit to perform with a frequency band from 20Hz to 4kHz even at maximum delay time of 0.4 seconds. The IC500 is provided with 36dB anti-aliasing filter effectively removing spurious and harsh frequency interference.
