Sovtek EL84 are extremely reliable and good sounding. The construction has improved steadily over the years. Sovtek EL84 are currently being used by such manufacturers as Fender - Crate - and Peavey. The Sovtek EL84 produce an unbeatable smooth - warm distortion. Excellent replacements in vintage VOX AC-30's and the like.

In clean playing application the Sovtek EL84 produces one of the cleanest sounds with excellent balance. The midrange is full and well balanced but what sets the Sovtek apart is that it has the bass end has the most clarity and slam making chord sound fuller and more rounded.

In overdriven mode the Sovtek EL84 excels as it has a punchy tone and is very easy to overdrive providing that crunchy on the edge break up with a wonderfully round tone.

When run into distortion the valve produces a full and smooth overdrive tone and handles boost signals from pedals extremely well with no fizziness.

Sovtek valves are designed and manufactured with strict quality control and engineered for demanding conditions and high reliability. Indeed Sovtek claim that their EL84 is quite simply the absolute best and after supplying these for 25 years they are certainly very hard to beat.
