Studiomaster 16:4:2
16 XLR preamps, they sound pretty clean and 'solid',
16 balanced 1/4" inputs,
16 inserts or direct outs if you use an unbalanced cable,
the greatest thing on this mixer are the EQ's !
highs, sweepable high mids and sweepable lows, you can boost or cut
from 25hz ! amazing to treat a kick.
The mixer is built in the UK and i love brittish eqs, this mixer sounds alot better
than a mackie vlz1604 and this one is alot cheaper,
four subgroups with a decent amount of headroom, 2tk out, 3aux out, 2 aux returns,
you can put verb or any fx on the master, sub1,2,3 or 4 so its possible to track
with reverb and record the clean signal,
these small consoles can be found in lots of homestudio's but i've also seen lots of
Studiomasters on live PA's,
nice machine, its got a real pleasant analog sound

pictures of all the sections of the mixer can be found here:

UTILISATION

You can find a manual online but it isn't necessary,
the knobs on the mixer are bigger than on most other brands and thats real nice,
it allows you to easily tweak the buttons with high precision.
its perfect for a beginner and powerful enough for a semi pro

SONORITÉS

The sound is clean, there is a bit of hiss if you turn the aux returns all the way open,
but with normal/moderate settings its hardly noticable,
the equalizer is really good, more powerful than all the software-plugins i got

AVIS GLOBAL

I worked with lots of other brands, sizes, analog and digital and what strikes me most is the built quality of this mixer, Studiomaster is a real decent brand, every function on the mixer still works eventough its a few years old, how old exactly i don't know...maybe 8 years, 10, but i've worked with brandnew behringer mixers that sound Horrible compared to this one, even some mackies can't compete with it.

Minus: Studiomaster lost its glory, in the 80's this brand was wellknown but they lost their popularity, and thats it, no bad things to say
