Sujet de la discussion Posté le 30/06/2007 à 16:09:10A little JAM-SESSION.
Here's a track recorded during a jam-session on which you can hear my cymbals being played by British studio/session drummer Emre Ramazanoglu. He has been playing my cymbals for a while. As you'll hear, he uses a selection of my trashier cymbals.
http://www.emremusic.com/ChrisJerometrack.mp3
To rule out any misunderstandings, he doesn't endorse my cymbals but he has given up his Zildjian endorsement because he wanted to play my cymbals.
I simply don’t give endorsements to anyone since the “blanks” I prefer to use (mainly professional Zildjian, Sabian and Ufip cymbals) are far too expensive and my profits are very low as it is. Also, I don’t even charge half of my work when modifying other people's cymbals. So if you see anyone famous playing my cymbals… they have payed for them, just like anybody else.
Anyway, Emre is awesome drummer and he is also an engineer/producer, so I am proud that he prefers to play my cymbals. He has recorded and worked with artists such as
Shakira
Prodigy
Tricky
Afrika Bambaata
Alison Moyet
Sneaker Pimps
Keith Tippet
Jim Abbiss
Neil Macllellan
Mekon
Emre also plays drums (and my cymbals) on the forthcoming Lou Rhodes album (out in september), which he has also produced. Lou Rhodes is the singer from the British triphop-band Lamb.

Formidable.

Curriculum: CV
Emre Ramazanoglu
Age: 29
Nationality: British
Emre came to London in 1998 and began working as a session drummer and programmer for various electronic-based acts. He then hooked up with Jim Abbiss (producer of The Music, DJ Shadow) and worked as his protools operator/programmer and drummer for two years. During this period he was managed by Sandy Dworniak. He then went completely freelance and since then has worked with many different artists and labels.
Emre is very experienced with protools editing, programming and recording, logic audio, current music software, most samplers, vintage and modern synths, and studio outboard gear. Em also has a large amount of studio recording and programming equipment and a very good relationship with an excellent recording studio in North London where he does a great deal of engineering and protools work. Em also has a protools TDM mix and edit suite where he does most of his composition and editing work.
Emre also produces sample cds and his first ‘Return to the Planet of the Breaks’ (released through Zero-G) has just received maximum scores in several music magazines. Emre has now had his next generation of protools samples cds endorsed by Digidesign (creators of ProTools) and has recently released ‘The Operating Table’ (created with David Westlake from Sneaker Pimps which has just received endorsements from Nile Rodgers, Neil Macllelan.and Flood as a well as top marks from many music publications. Em also works freelance for Zero-G developing their ProTools products.
As well as these Emre has done a great deal of work with sound design for fashion shows and films. These protools-heavy jobs consist of creating twenty minute pieces for the catwalk combining original composition with DJ-style mixes. Recent clients have been Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Ghost, Givenchy, Jaeger and Langcome, Gucci, Frost French, Ungaro, Matthew Williamson, Johnathon Saunders, Carlos Miele, Rifat Ozbek, Sophia Kokosolaki and others.
Upcoming projects include work with Adam Freeland, Oddur Runnarson, Lou Rhodes (lamb), Trickbaby, Bailey Tzuke, Marie Miller, Ashok, Nemo, Mekon, Michael Jackson, Alexander Mcqueen, Rifat Ozbek, Ashley Isham and others

Hi Mr FoudeBOL, how shall I call your reaction ? Criticism ? I don't think so. I think the word "hatred" is more suitable here. It's very easy to spit and insult people...if you are hiding behide an anonymous nickname like "FoudeBOL" If you want to resort to hatred, I suggest that you have the courage to display your REAL name.
Anyway, it's not because Emre has not updated the his website for a while, that I'm telling a lie. The Zildjians on his website are no more...they have all been replaced with my cymbals. If you doubt it, just ask him. He'll even send you pictures of his setup.
Did I say Emre is a very well known or important drummer? No I didn't, you are putting words into my mouth which I did not say. Read my post, I have simply said Emre is a "British studio/session drummer", I never said he is world famous.
But if you say he's just a simple Pro Tools engineer, then how come the album "Beloved" from Lou Rhodes (former singer of Lamb) has been nominated for a Mercury Prize (the equivalent of a Grammy)?
Emre is one the few people who have actually given up an endorsement to play my cymbals, and chooses to tell other people about it. So that makes me proud, whether he is wellknown or not.
Other more well know drummers, who not only have an endorsement with a big cymbal brand, but who also get sponsored by the brand have come to me with their cymbals to have them modified secretly, because the cymbals they are endorsing don't satisfy them. But these drummers ask me to keep silent about that because they don't want to lose their endorsement and sponsorship.
Anyway, also other people like Dré Pallemaerts (who is a famous jazzdrummer in both Belgium and France, he often plays with Toots Thielemans) or Luke Flowers from the Cinematic Orchestra play my cymbals. Also jazz drummers from New York. Even rock drummers, like the drummer from Soulwax.
All I wanted was to give people a chance to listen to how my cymbals sound in a musical context, which the track from Emre displays. And I am proud he plays my cymbals because he is an excellent drummer. Whether he is well known or not is of less importance to me than it is to you.
