Vision Acoustique : Evasion

I’m posting this review because I could not find any information of it on the web. I bough the Evasions at Dé hifiwinkel in the Netherlands, also the importer of the brand in the Benelux
I donÂ’t now if the brand is available in the U.K or the V.S
The only thing I now of the firm is that it is a small factory from France that started in 1988.
First of all I dinÂ’t want to by the Vision AcoustiqueÂ’s. I both some occasion Chario speakers, the Syntar 200T to be exact. At home I was not fond of them at all, the ware to big for my room, the bass was to up front and the treble to harsh. I also suspect that a woofer was damaged but after going back to the store. The said to me that it was normal for that speaker. What the truth is I donÂ’t now. But I was glad to get rid of them. ( I guess the CharioÂ’s could be quite nice if u have a large room and a more powerful amp the I have.)
To be honest I liked the Evasion at first over the CharioÂ’s but I am on a tide budged so I lett my wallet speak not my heart. The Evasions are beautiful slim models. With a stunning 3d soundstage, a excellent positioning of the instruments, and a rarely heard transparency (at this price range what I now of) The only down side of it was the lack of bass slam.
A problem was also that the shop was no dealer of Dynaudio so I could not compare it with
The Vision Acoustique. The Dynaudio Audience 52 where the speakers I first looked for.
But there is for me personly a thing I dislike about standmount loudspeaker. That you are not finished by buying them you also need stands and that cost also, and like cables it is hard to hear the quality at first. But anyway I auditioned several Dynaudio at an other dealer. Standmounts and floorstanders I liked the Audience 52 the best. The are as much reviewers and magazines say excellent speakers. The only down side I find ( on al of the DynÂ’s I auditioned) Is that the mid range is to cloudy and the bass to upfront. To much compromise for different kind of music. But this in miner key because over all these are still one of my favorite. Some ware else I listened to D12 Xandadu speakers a small Dutch brand of hi-fi loudspeakers. These where also excellent speakers with the same transparency as the Vision Acoustique (maybe even more) but absolutely no bass authority. There for more shouted for medium scale classical and jazz music, but lesser for bombastic film and electronic music.
The Vision Acoustique Evasion is a good compromise between the to: a tide bass and great
Transparency.

After the speakers where delivered. There was another surprise. First of all I toughed the delivered the wrong type of speakers after phoning with the shop we came to the conclusion
That the speakers where updated. What a improvement! Not to say that this are completely different speakers. The dimentions are the same but the speakers is now biwired (before it was singlewired) and they integrated a second woofer!
Now my only commend on these models are now more. The bass has low retching authority with out being upfront with out having lose of transparency. And by that it currently outdo the dynaudioÂ’s for me!
