The Tannoy System 8's are a pair of monitors designed for use in the recording studio. They are indeed passive monitors, so they require an external power amplifier. I've used these monitors for monitoring during the tracking of a full band. Since this was only the second time that I had been to the studio I used them at, I'm not sure what type of amplifier we were using in tandem with the System 8s. The monitors are fairly large, but not nearly as large other Tannoy monitors that I've used before. Although I haven't used them for any other purposes other than monitoring during recording, judging by their full sound during this application, I'd say they would be suitable for mixing as well. However, I've yet to have the chance to mix on the Tannoy System 8's, so I can't say so for sure.

SOUNDS

The Tannoy System 8's are tight and full sounding in general. I was using them as a pair of mid to near field monitors, and they certainly packed enough punch for me to be able to get an accurate read on what we were recording. I remember getting a very tight kick drum sound through these monitors, as the low end is very good for a pair of medium sized monitors. After listening to the unmixed and very rough recordings that we did while monitoring through the System 8's, it was clear to see that they had steered us in the right direction as the sound translated well to my monitors at home.

OVERALL OPINION

While certainly not the flagship monitors made by Tannoy, the System 8's are a very good sounding set of monitors that are definitely to be respected. They don't command very much money if you can find them, but since they no longer make them they have become somewhat hard to come across. However, when I have seen them for sale it is usually for a very reasonable price. While I used the System 8's in a professional recording studio, they can certainly be used in any situation that you might be in. I don't know if I would necessarily recommend seeking out a pair of the System 8's, as it would be somewhat hard to do and there are plenty of Tannoy monitors out there that are much easier to find, but I would absolutely recommend checking them out if you stumble upon a pair of them at a reasonable price...

Le Système Tannoy 8 sont une paire de moniteurs conçus pour une utilisation en studio d'enregistrement. Ils sont en effet les moniteurs passifs, ils ont donc besoin d'un amplificateur de puissance externe. J'ai utilisé ces moniteurs pour la surveillance pendant le suivi d'un groupe au complet. Puisque ce n'était que la deuxième fois que j'avais été au studio je les ai utilisés moins, je ne suis pas sûr de ce type d'amplificateur que nous utilisions en tandem avec le système de 8s. Les moniteurs sont assez grandes, mais pas aussi important moniteurs Tannoy d'autres que j'ai utilisé auparavant. Bien que je ne les ont pas utilisées à des fins autres que la surveillance pendant l'enregistrement, à en juger par leur son plein durant cette application, je dirais qu'ils seraient appropriés pour mélanger ainsi. Cependant, je n'ai pas encore eu la chance de mixer sur le Système Tannoy 8, donc je ne peux pas dire à coup sûr.

SONORITÉS

Le Système Tannoy 8 sont serrés et pleine consonance en général. J'étais en les utilisant comme une paire de mi aux moniteurs en champ proche, et ils ont certainement assez de punch pour emballée moi d'être en mesure d'obtenir une lecture précise de ce que nous enregistrions. Je me souviens avoir un son lancement très serré tambour à travers ces moniteurs, comme le bas de gamme est très bon pour une paire de moniteurs moyennes entreprises. Après avoir écouté les enregistrements non mélangé et très approximative que nous avons fait tout le suivi au moyen du Système 8, il était évident de voir qu'ils nous avaient dirigé dans la bonne direction comme le bruit traduit bien à mes moniteurs à la maison.

AVIS GLOBAL

Alors certainement pas le phare surveille faites par Tannoy, le Système 8 sont un très bon ensemble sonne de moniteurs qui sont certainement d'être respecté. Ils ne commandent pas beaucoup d'argent si vous pouvez les trouver, mais comme ils ne les font qu'ils sont devenus un peu difficile à rencontrer. Cependant, lorsque je les ai vus pour la vente, il est généralement à un prix très raisonnable. Alors j'ai utilisé le système 8 dans un studio d'enregistrement professionnel, ils peuvent certainement être utilisé dans n'importe quelle situation que vous pourriez être po je ne sais pas si je serait nécessairement recommandons de demander une paire de 8 le système, car il serait quelque peu difficile à faire et il ya beaucoup de Tannoy surveille là-bas qui sont beaucoup plus faciles à trouver, mais je vous recommande absolument de les vérifier si vous tombez sur une paire d'entre eux à un prix raisonnable ...
