A liberated improvisation big band,
under spécial guests direction,
like a town during the rush hours,
like automn smells blend,
when abscence tell as much as presence.
Le GGRIL (Grand Groupe Régional d'Improvisation Liberée), c'est le big band maison de Tour de Bras. Il est composé d'un douzaine de musiciens du Bas-Saint-Laurent et a travaillé avec plusieurs chefs invités
Tour de Bras est une structure de diffusion, de création et de production dans le domaine des musiques actuelles, des arts performatifs et des nouvelles pratiques sonores et instrumentales. Par ses activités, cherche à favoriser le développement culturel en région, sensibiliser le public à des formes d’art actuel, faire participer les créateurs locaux à des projets innovateurs lors de rencontres avec des artistes des scènes provinciale et internationale.

Plaistow délivre une musique qui parcourt les extrêmes. Parfois dans un presque silence, les sons et les gestes ralentis, on s'approche d'une idée de calme ou de contemplation méditative. L'impression de pouvoir jouer avec un lent déroulement du temps. A d'autre moments il y a une sorte de colère qui s'exprime, comme dans une brève griffure ou dans un long hurlement. Il y a un abandon des formes, la volonté de se situer hors des styles et des convenances, d'adopter une attitude à la fois désinvolte et intense.
Plaistow's music goes through all extremes. Sometimes close to silence, sounds and gestures slackened, we get near an idea of calm and contemplative meditation. The feeling to be able to compose with a slow progress of time. And then, at some point, a kind of anger is given voice, just like in a brief scratch or in a long howling. Here forms are neglected, there is a will to get out of style and decency, a will to adopt an attitude both offhanded and intense.

Subdivision of Audioactivity collective, Insubordinations has focused
only in the most non-artificial compositions. D’Incise, alma mater of
this projects, has handcrafted a personal sample of its philosophy:
improvised music, electroacustic, free-jazz and other experimentations.
The selection goes from the evoquing piano from Plaistow on Mairie
Des Lilas, throught the improvisation and free jazz from Apeiron duo
or the Rosa Luxemburg New Quintet, the experienced sound poet Jacques
Demierre, the music critique Mathias Delplanque, the aclaimed Adrian
Juarez multi-instrumentalism, the violoncelle and percussion duo from
Martin Atenburger & Lê Quan Ninh till the post-poetry from KARST.
