Here we have a nice example of a 1986 Steinberger GP2S made in Newburgh New York USA with it's original gig bag . It's serial number is N4273.
This guitar is completely original and has never been modified or repaired since the day it left the Newburgh factory in 86.This GP has the first and earliest version of the GP pick guard with the embossed silk screened logo. The frets have some wear but are in good shape and have plenty of life left. It plays excellently all the way up and down the neck. This guitar has excellent tone and the original electronics are in great shape. The pots work perfectly with no scratchiness or noise. The original gig bag looks almost brand new. The only really noticeable wear to the guitar is a small amount on the frets and to the pick guard since it has some pick swirl and the silk screen logo is starting to rub away.
The S trem also looks amazing and all of the original stainless steel roller saddles roll. If you are not familiar with the S-trem it is like a non transposing transtrem. It floats so you can either pull up or down on it. It can also be locked in place and act like a hard tail. The S-trem and Transtrems are interchangeable on Steinberger gutiars. So if you ever want to get a transtrem some day just keep an eye on ebay and you can quickly change one for the other. I do not really use the transposing feature of my Steinberger guitars so the S-trem is perfect for me.
