Love the La-2A classic limiter/compressor. It definitely bring something powerfull to the music (and waves, cause you can physically tell the difference with or without). It adds some beaf and chunkyness when there is not enough. It does limit/compress but at the end of the day i perceive it more like a Colorbox than anything else. I understand why Les paul modified his into a DI box cause indeed, it had loads of gain. I dont know about the others LA-2a's, mine seems to really sound great when being pushed (where the plugin fails).
I have really tried to match the real and the Uad plugins but, really, they both sound great but they are different. The real thing is really, at least to my perception, so much bigger and musical (but also less practical to use, match, bypass etc).
Also it had a very slow attack time, when being crank, it can become just like a pedal box with a uniform sound (is it good or bad, you tell me but the guys and girls in motowns studio's like it. )

Overall classic that inspires me very much, especially on bass, vocals, sparkly acoustic instruments.
