« Great strings for those who like to switch tunings often! »

I really like these strings. I went through several gauges looking for exactly what I wanted. I knew that I wanted to be able to tune down to Drop B and still have some resemblance of string tension, but at the same time I wanted to be able to solo easily on the higher strings when I play in standard tuning. These strings were definitely the answer to my search.
I run a BC Rich Warbeast NJ Deluxe that is loaded with active EMG's and has a Original Floyd Rose bridge on it. I knew that I wanted a set of strings that had great clarity, and that were fairly bright. They also needed to have great tuning stability, as I tend to do some crazy stuff with the Floyd Rose every once in a while
When I first got these strings, I have to say, I was pretty impressed with them. They have great low end clarity, which is perfect for what I normally play, which is Thrash metal. The sound is just altogether more focused than with lighter strings, and they also retain pretty decent string tension when down-tuning, but the high strings are still pretty loose for ease of soloing in standard tuning. They definitely give a fatter sound as well, which is great for those open E palm mutes with heavy distortion
Overall, I really couldn't be more pleased with these strings. Not only do they sound great, but they retain decent string tension when down-tuning. They do keep that awesome "new string tone" for longer than other strings I've noticed, which is great. I normally change strings at least every two months at the longest, because I don't like the feel and tone of old strings.
In the end, although you can't beat a standard set of really heavy strings for those low tunings, these are a great compromise between down-tuned tension and standard tuning soloing ease.
