Salut a tous !!

je veins d'acquerir ce sampleur, et apres quelques beats de familiarisation j'en arrive au point incoutournable: brancher un zip scsi pour sauvegarder mes morceaux.

sauf que ca marche pas !

Mon equipement:
- E64 (réglé sur scsi id#2, termination on) avec hd interne (scsi id#1)
- un zip "plus" scsi 100meg ( scsi id #5 ou 6, pas de bouton termination dispo)

derriere le zip, il y a deux connectiques scsi: une prise "autodetect", et une prise avec le symbole scsi.

vu que mon cable rentre dans la deuxieme prise (avec le symbole scsi) uniquement, je le branche et le relie au sampleur ( qui lui aussi a deux ports scsi, mais ca ne change rien je pense)

J'ai testé toutes les configurations pour qu'auncun des elements n'ai le meme ID scsi.
ca ne marche dans aucun cas, puisque quand j'essaye de faire "mount drive"
parfois il ne trouve que le floppy (le hd interne a disparu !),
parfois il me met le floppy et le hd interne avec capacité de 0meg
parfois il me met le floppy et une icone dvd ,...
parfois le systeme plante.

Quelqu'un a déja t il eu ce probleme ? et comment le resoudre?

a priori j'ai tous les elements necessaire a ce que ca marche, et puis c qd meme une chaine scsi basique, la solution doit pas etre loin...!!

aidez moi la je suis bloqué !!

Mon problème est résolu...

mais pour ceux qui galerent voila quelques infos:

procurez vous un zip scsi avec deux curseurs derriere, un pour selectionner l'ID et un pour selectionner termination on/off. (J'ai essayé un zip100 "plus" qui n'en a qu'un seul (celui de l'id) et ca marche pas.)


voila les infos en provenance du support emu pour faire fonctionner la chaine scsi:

Firstly, if you have any other SCSI devices connected to the sampler,
you should disconnect these so that you have only the Sampler and the
device in question on the SCSI bus ? all other devices should be
physically disconnected. This will reduce the possibilities of other
devices contributing to problems while you are trouble-shooting.

Next, you must check your SCSI IDs. The sampler should be set to SCSI
ID 6 ? this is set in the Master / SCSI menu of the Emu. In the
sampler, you will find another parameter on the SCSI page, either called
?Mac on SCSI bus?, or ?Avoid Host on SCSI ID?. If you have ?Mac on SCSI
bus?, you should set this to ?no?. If you have ?Avoid Host on SCSI ID?
as the parameter, then you should set this to ?none?. (These two
parameters are only for use if you have a computer on the SCSI bus).
You should set the SCSI ID of the device that you are connecting to the
Emu to a lower ID (like 1, or 2, or 3). After this, reboot and try to
see if the system works.

If the system is still not working correctly, you should check
termination. Because you have two devices, you will have the E-MU on
the end of the SCSI bus, and the device on the other end. You should
check in the Emu SCSI page that termination is switched to ?on? (On ESI
machines, this is automatic ? there is no termination parameter to
check). On the SCSI device, termination should be applied ? this may
take the form of a hardware termination ?block? that you attach to the
2nd SCSI port of the SCSI device, or it may take the form of a small
switch you use to switch termination on or off (as in the case of Iomega
drives). You should then reboot the machines and try again. If the
system is still not working at this stage with termination applied
correctly, then it is worth trying a different order of SCSI ID numbers
- try the SCSI device on a different ID (but still lower than the
sampler), reboot and check operation.

If the system is still not working, then another factor which can make a
major difference to how the SCSI bus works is what order you switch on
the devices in. You can try the SCSI device first, then the sampler ?
this is the method that works most often. If this does not allow the
system to function, then you should try powering up the other way around
? sampler first and then SCSI device. In this order, you may have to
?mount drives? on the Emu before it will see the SCSI bus correctly. If
this does not work, then it is worth trying powering up both devices
together. We have had several systems where SCSI would only work with
all devices powered up at the same time, so this is always worth trying
? it can make a huge difference to how the SCSI bus works.

If the system is still not working, then you should check the SCSI
cables ? although it does not often happen, it is still worth checking
this as it can cause failure of the whole SCSI network if the cables are
faulty or not connected in any way.

If none of these permutations works and the system is still not working,
then the overwhelming likelyhood is that the SCSI device is not
compatible with the Emu.

et n'oubliez pas de fomrmatter la disquette zip par le sampleur une fois que le lecteur zip est reconnu.

salut. je possède un lecteur zip iomega 250 avec "termination" et "scsi id" derrière. par contre je n'ai pas les câbles correspondant. Quel fiche faut-il pour connecter le scsi du zip à celui du e64 ?

il te faut un cable scsi centronics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Centronics_50_SCSI_connector.JPG vers scsi 1 DB25 pour brancher sur le zip.
