Since nobody seem to be answering the question, I'll give it a shot...
The C8 can be used with PT or it can be used in "stand-alone mode" with other software programs and MIDI hardware. Unfortunately, I believe you have to map the controls on the C8 to the software or hardware that you want to control with the C8. The map can be saved as one of up to eight presets that are stored in the internal memory of the C8. The presets can be dumped as a MIDI SysEx message and can be reloaded into the C9 through USB or MIDI cables. Unless some kind soul has already created a preset and will provide it to you to load into your C8, you would probably have to create your own preset. No doubt it would be great fun and highly educational. The instructions are in the C8 guide which can be downloaded in the Technical Documents section of this website. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I am not a Logic user.

Yes...
As a user of both PT and Logic, I'm in the market for a controller for both...
sadly, it looks like I'm stuck with the Mackie Universal.. via MIDI (groan)...
a Yami 01x would have been much more interesting...

C'est toujours un début de réponse... mais le mieux c'est sans doute de télécharger sur le site de digi le manuel de la command8. ;)
