Bonjour,

Hi Gold,
I believe we spoke on the phone as well, but I'll answer this here for everyone to see.
The QCon Pro has several DAW modes built-in which use both Mackie Control Protocol and HUI to communicate with the software. Unfortunately, one of these is not Sonar at this time. I don't know if it may be added in the future, but it is not available at this time. In general, the only thing that changes between the different presets are the function buttons, automation controls, and the channel encoders.
The mixer and transport controls are standard across all DAWs that support Mackie Control, so those controls can be used with DAWs that don't have their own presets on the QCon. To do this, simply select one of the DAW modes which uses Mackie Control on startup(which is everything except Pro Tools mode or User Defined/MIDI Learn mode).
With respect to MIDI Learn mode(also called User Defined mode), all of your faders, knobs, and buttons will send general MIDI signals and will not use Mackie Control or HUI in this mode. You are able to change what message every control sends by using the iMap software for the QCon. The steps to program these controls are below.
1. Turn on the QCon Pro, while connected to your computer, and choose the 'User Defined' or 'MIDI Learn' mode as it starts up.
2. Open the iMap software on the computer it's connected to.
3. In the iMap software, click the button named 'MIDI Devices' and choose your QCon from the list. Then press 'OK'.
4. In the lower left, under the 'Control Mode' dropdown, select 'User Defined'.
5. From here, you can click on every control shown and assign them MIDI Notes, CCs, or Program Change messages as needed.
6. Once you have assigned the controls as you want them, simply press 'Send Data' and the QCon will be reprogrammed.
Note: Make sure no other MIDI-enabled programs are in use when you perform this process. Other programs may take control of the QCon's MIDI port and then no data will actually be sent to the console when you program it.
Note: Once you have programmed the QCon in User Defined/MIDI Learn mode, it will retain your programming until the firmware is updated or you reprogram it again. You do not need to reprogram this mode each time you use it, only to change a control.
Note: At this time, there is no way to 'modify' one of the existing DAW presets. The only user-programmable preset is User Defined/MIDI Learn mode.
I hope this is helpful, and not too long-winded. We intend to include these instructions in graphic detail in future manuals, but as it's a very new feature we're still working out any issues before it becomes standard.
Thank you,
Rob A.
