Cant get vanguard to open in Logic
by dawsonscholz » Thu Jun 17, 2010 2:22 pm

For some reason I cant seem to get the Vanguard plugin to work in logic. Autotune and Meladyne work fine and I can open them up and use them perfectly. But for some reason Vanguard is not showing up under the Audio Units section where you ad new plugins. But when i go to the Audio Units Manager it says that Vanguard is on there, but it says it is an instrument rather then midi controlled effect like Autotune and Meladyne. Do i open it a different way? if so, how?

No, it should work as it is as an instrument. I should install my Vanguard into Logic 9, have not done it yet. Would help if you:

a) posted your config
b) contacted the Vanguard developer asking if this is a known issue.

Like any other SW synth.

1. Create an instrument track.
2. Select Vanguard from the list of instrument tracks as the instrument.

If unsure, the manual is your friend.

After making an audio instrument track look at its channel strip. Locate and click on the top I/O field (the empty grey field right above the output field saying "Stereo Out 1-2").

This opens a dropdown menu that shows you the bundled Logic instruments. Move your mouse down the list until you find the AU instruments subfolder and select the Vanguard.

If the Vanguard doesn't appear on that list it isn't installed correctly. Re-install or contact reFX for help.
