Citation : In Voice Edit mode, the methods for switching an element on/off (owner's manual p.97) and for switching on only the element to be edited (owner's manual p.97) have changed.
-The method of selecting an element to edit in Voice Edit mode has not changed from the previous version. However in V1.05, you can always use the number buttons [1]-[8] to select an element, regardless of the state of the [MUTE] button and [SOLO] button indicators. In V1.05, the [1]-[8] buttons indicate the element being edited, and the [9]-[16] buttons indicate the on/off status of elements 1-8.
-To switch each element on/off, turn the [MUTE] button on, and then use number buttons [9]-[16].
Use number buttons [1]-[8] to select the element you want to edit
Use number buttons [9]-[16] to turn each element on/off
-If you want to turn on only the element you're editing, press the [SOLO] button to turn it on, and then press a number button [1]-[8] or [9]-[16]. For example if you want to turn on only element 1 and edit it, press the [1] or [9] button to make the [1] indicator light and the [9] indicator blink.
Use number buttons [1]-[8] / [9]-[16] to turn on only the element you want to edit

In the Song mode Track View screen (p.181) and in the Pattern mode Play screen (p.208), you can now use the Category Search function to select a voice.
-In the Song mode Track View screen (p.181) or the Pattern mode Play screen (p.208), press the [CATEGORY SEARCH] button; the indicator will light, and the Category Search screen will appear. This means that you can use the same method as explained in "Using Category Search" (owner's manual p.24) to select a voice for the mixing part that corresponds to the currently selected track. When you press the [CATEGORY SEARCH] button once again, the indicator will go dark and you will return to the previous screen.

When you enter Sampling mode from Song mode or Pattern mode, the following new functionality is now available.
-"sample+note" has been added as a Recording Type. (p.244)
If you select "sample+note" as the recording type, a note data event to play the recorded sample will automatically be created when sampling ends.
-"meas" (measure) has been added as a Trigger Mode. (p.246)
This enables the Punch In/Out parameter located below Trigger Mode. If you select "meas" as the trigger mode, sampling will automatically start when the song or pattern playback reaches the specified punch-in measure, and sampling will automatically end when the song or pattern reaches the specified punch-out measure.

In the File mode Save operation (p.279) when you open the Input Character screen, the name of the currently selected file will now appear as the default in the editing area (p.82).
-This is more convenient, since if you have selected a file ahead of time, you won't need to enter the entire name of the file to save.

The following improvements have been made.
Voice mode
-In Voice Play mode's Favorite Voice Select screen (owner's manual p.89), the screen now shows only Main Category 1 and Sub Category 1.

Song mode / Pattern mode
-If you move from the Song Chain screen (owner's manual p.185) to the Track View screen (owner's manual p.181) etc., the [TRACK] button indicators will now light.
-In the Song Edit mode and Pattern Edit mode screens, you can now edit the velocity of a note event by using the [SF6] NUM button.

Pattern mode
-In the Realtime Loop Remix screen (owner's manual p.217), you can now select the track.

The following problems have been corrected.

Voice mode
-The problem in which executing Initialize (owner's manual p.133) in Voice mode had caused parameter changes to be transmitted via MIDI has been corrected.

Song mode / Pattern mode / Mixing mode
-When song recording is stopped, the song location (playback position) will now return to the measure at which song recording began.
-The problem in the Song Chain screen (owner's manual p.185) where the song name at the cursor location did not always match the song name shown in the upper part of the screen has been corrected.
-The problem in which the tempo value specified prior to selecting the tempo track as the REC TR (recording track) failed to be recorded to the tempo track has been corrected.
-The problem in which the Song job Copy Event (owner's manual p.201) was not executed correctly has been corrected.
-The problem that, when you use the Song job Extract Event (owner's manual p.201) to choose "CC & Ch.Mode" as the event type, then temporarily exit the screen and return to the screen, causes the control number setting box to disappear, has been corrected.
-The problem in which mixing does not occur correctly when you execute the Mix Track job (owner's manual p.205) using a track that was recorded with muting in the Song Scene track, has been corrected.
-The problem in which the cursor location fails to go to the appropriate location (the beginning of the song) when you enter the Song Edit screen with the song location specified as 001 for a song in which no event is recorded at the beginning, has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when executing the Song mode Split Song To Pattern job (owner's manual p.207), the length becomes other than specified by the phrase, has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when switching sections while playing back a pattern, operation of the [EDIT] button is not accepted until playback has actually switched to the next section, has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when you change sections during pattern playback, sound is produced even the new section does not contain data, has been corrected.
-The problem in which Pattern mode Loop Remix (owner's manual p.216) was not executed correctly has been corrected.
-The problem in which track settings were not copied correctly in the Pattern Chain Edit mode Convert To Song screen has been corrected.
-The problem that occurs when you operate the SEQ TRANSPORT buttons in the Insert Event screen of Song Edit mode or Pattern Edit mode has corrected.
-Problems with the initial settings when various job screens of Song mode or Pattern mode were recalled have been corrected.
-In the Mixing Edit mode Effect Connection screen (owner's manual p.234), the [SF6] button indication had incorrectly read "INFO"; this has been corrected to read "LIST."
-The problem in the Mixing mode Copy Voice job (owner's manual p.237) in which the copy-source mixing voice name / sample name were not displayed properly has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when a sample voice / mixing voice is selected for a mixing part, turning the [PROGRAM] button on and then pressing an [A]-[H] button would display the USER1 bank, has been corrected.

Sampling mode
-The problem that, if you entered Sampling mode from Song/Pattern mode, caused the gate time to be incorrect when executing Slice, has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when the song has a time signature other than 4/4 and you execute sampling with Recording Type set to something other than "slice+seq," the measures created by Slice are sometimes offset, has been corrected.
-The problem that, if you entered Sampling mode from Song/Pattern mode, caused the sliced samples to fail to play correctly with the Audition function, has been corrected.
-The problem that, if you entered Sampling mode from Song/Pattern mode, and executed sampling on a track in which data already exists, sometimes caused the existing data to be deleted, has been corrected.
-The problem that, if you entered Sampling mode from Song/Pattern mode and sampled using Recording Type = slice + seq, sometimes caused element 1 of the voice to fail to sound when you played the keyboard, has been corrected.
-The problem that, when you used the Sampling mode Waveform job "01:Copy" and selected an empty waveform containing no sample data as the copy-destination, and then exited the screen without executing the job, had caused the specified empty waveform to be played in the copy-destination, has been corrected.
-The problem that, when in the Sequencer Setup screen (owner's manual p.269) you set Sampling Count to something other than "off," and then enter Sampling mode from Song/Pattern mode and execute sampling, had sometimes caused sampling to actually begin even though the pre-count was still occurring, has been corrected.
-The problem which, when you enter Sampling mode from Song mode, execute sampling, and then return to Song mode, had sometimes caused the measure number indication to be negative, has been corrected.
-The problem which, after you load a protected waveform and attempt to execute the Sampling job Copy, had caused a freeze, has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when the song has a time signature other than 4/4 and you execute sampling with Recording Type set to something other than "slice+seq," the measures created by Slice are sometimes offset, has been corrected.
-The problem that had caused a freeze to occur when you execute the Sampling mode Slice job (owner's manual p.176) has been corrected.
-The problem which, when using the Sampling mode Slice job (owner's manual p.176), sometimes made it impossible to change Sub Divide, has been corrected.

File mode
-The problem that had made it impossible to mount a shared folder of a computer for which no password is specified has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when loading a file created on the MOTIF ES6/7/8, certain parameters were not set properly, has been corrected.
-The problem that had made it impossible to load W7V files and W7E files created on the MO6/MO8 has been corrected.
-The problem that had made it impossible to correctly load pattern files (extension: XOP) containing sample voices has been corrected.
-The problem that had made it impossible to load a saved WAV file into Cubase or Windows Media Player has been corrected.
-The problem that, when you used the Mount screen (owner's manual p.227) to mount a shared folder when there was only one host, and then temporarily exited the Mount screen and returned to the Mount screen, caused the mount indicator to fail to be displayed for the shared folder that should have been mounted, has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when the network-connected computer in the Host field of the Mount screen (owner's manual p.277) fails to be automatically detected, and you exit and then re-enter the Mount screen, the manually-entered and detected host name disappears from the Host field, has been corrected.

Other
-The problem in which arpeggio or song/pattern playback is sluggish immediately after executing a Factory Reset (owner's manual p.22) has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when you set the arpeggio Octave Range parameter to something other than 0 in each mode, the octave is incorrect for the arpeggio that is first played when you press the keyboard, has been corrected.
-The problem in which it is possible to execute [F5] Set/Clear even though nothing is shown in the list of the Category Search screen (owner's manual p.88) has been corrected.
-The problem in which, when you recall the Effect screen, the cursor is not at the last-edited location, has been corrected.
-he problem of communication errors occurring when a USB storage device is plugged into the USB TO DEVICE connector while communicating with MOTIF XS Editor on a computer has been corrected.
