Citation :
EZDrummer version 1.0.4 include a preview technology of the 'Mini Editor'.
In a nutshell it allows you to do basic editing of the patterns found in the groove library, before they are dragged to the host application. Here is a quick overview of operations:
1. Select your groove.
It is probably a good idea to double-click the groove in the browser as a first step to audition it and see how many bars it runs for, if you, e.g., want to add a Crash Cymbal on the first beat.
2. Close the groove library browser (and also the mixer if it is open) so as to reveal the Main window picturing the drumkit.
3. Click the 'play' button in EZ Drummer.
Now, while the groove is running you can add hits to it by pressing and holding SHIFT and then left-clicking a drum or cymbal. The entered hit will be at full velocity and will be quantized to the nearest 32nd note.
If you feel that the hit was somewhat entered wrongly, you can remove it by pressing and holding SHIFT and then right-click the same drum or cymbal you just added, at the same 32nd note in the groove where you added it.
If you find that it's hitting the same spot again is too difficult or would like to start afresh switch to another groove using the up or down arrow at the lower part of the interface then back to the groove of your interest. This will reset the groove you've been working on to its initial state.
Note that removing notes also works on the notes already in the groove, which can be handy if you, e.g., want to remove the Kick drum on some beats.
4. Drag and Drop your edited groove to your host.
You will notice a '+' sign at the end of the groove's name when it has been dropped into the host. This simply means that the groove has been edited, for your future reference.
5. Save your home made groove to the User MIDI folder.
Working with the 'Mini Editor' is entirely non-destructive, so you can't mess up your grooves in your library. What you do only affects the currently selected groove in EZ Drummer and the edits are only held in memory for as long as you don't switch to another groove.
By extension this means that if you do not drag your custom groove into the host or re-inject it in the User library you will not have access to it in your next session/project."
