How you can transfer samples from the computer to the su700:

1. Format an external scsi-disk with "translator" from "chickensys" to
akai format and create volumes.
2. Create a soundfont-instrument with the samples you want to load to
the su700.
3. Convert and write this sf2-file with "translator" to the scsi-disk.
4. From there you can import the samples with the su700.

Hey, and it even works on a macintosh! You need the "Blue Label"
pc-emulator. Important: Set scsi-buffer in "Translator" -settings to
512!
Soundfont-instruments can be created with "awave studio" for example.

How you can create your sf2-files in Awave Studio:
1. Load all samples with 'Merge files'
2. Open the 'Create instrument wizard (Tools-menu)
3. Select 'A drum kit instrument'
4. Use the Auto-create-function ('Assign waveforms sequentially starting
at...')
5. Save as sf2-instrument
