Is it possible that I burned the LM324 while trying different resistors?
282

Hmm i don't beleive you burnt the LM324 just by soldering/desolderig nearby resistors.

Try to replace R1 resistor by a variable resistor, and see if it gives you a good contrast at a specific position. It will allow you to find the good resistor value.

283
I'll try different resistors and I'll report. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay I was sick.
I changed different resistors but no luck. I forgot to mention that there's a buzzing noise coming from the screen. Not sure where from. I googled it and it says it could be one of the capacitors need to be changed.. I would like to change all capacitors on the LCD board any idea of their value?
Thank you!
285

Uh that sounds challenging!

Without schematics i'd say it's impossible to knowthe value of each capacitor.

286
I know I looked all over and couldn't find the schematics for it... On the other hand I changed the 74HC4051D on the old screen and now I can see text but not clear. It was completely dead.

Have you checked the voltage going to the LCD? Maybe you have a PSU problem, it's common on these desks.

288
You might be right. I check the voltage. Please take a look at the attached pic.
Thank you!

+5VDC and +3,3VDC seem good.

I think at this point you should try to find someone that can let you try a fully fonctionnal LCD, and check if it works.

Thank you! I might just buy another one that is the exact LCD from eBay. Its just too much trouble lol.
Thank you again for you help!!
