1939 Ford 1/2 ton Pickup - $6750 (Aztec, NM)

1939 Ford 1/2 ton pickup, a very nice rare original barrel-nose truck with the original V8 flathead drive train, and is still 6 volt. The truck runs and drives, and will only need some wiring updates (lights, turn signals, etc.) to be roadworthy. The hydraulic brakes work very well. Mechanically, the engine runs smoothly, with the only negative being a small leak in the rear main seal, and a small leak in the radiator. There is no rust in the cab and the front sheet metal, and just a couple of spots on the bed. The grill is excellent, and I have many new parts that will be included with the truck. The transmission will pop out of second gear, which is common on the 3-spd tranny, but included with the truck is a late model 5-spd transmission conversion which will give the V8 a much better power range. The conversion parts consist of the BW T5 transmission, aluminum bell housing to adapt to the flathead V8, and the appropriate disc and pressure plate. The only item needed to complete the conversion is the adapter to install an open driveline, available from Speedway Motors. The cab and doors are rock-solid, the windows roll up and down easily, the windshield rolls out, the front cowl vent opens easily. The only gauges that work are the oil pressure gauge and the speedometer, but all of the original gauges are there. I was planning on a "driving" restoration, doing updates while I drove the pickup, but my plans have changed. If you would like more information or photos, please e-mail me or call (505) 486-0817. This truck originally came from Arizona, then went to California, and lastly to New Mexico, so it has never been exposed to much moisture, and is very well preserved. The rear fenders have been replaced with ones that are in better shape than the originals, and other than that I believe the truck to have all of the original parts (except for the seat, which is out of a late model small pickup). I do have a '39 seat for the truck. There are a few dents and cracks here and there, but it has never been taken apart, and would be an excellent candidate for either restoring or rodding. Complete car with excellent Chrome ready for restore. This was the Top of the line car that Packard produced in 1955, with power everything. Car equipped with Power Windows, Power steering, Power brakes, Power antenna. Car has the first of it's kind Torsion-Leveling suspension. Engine is a 352 V-8 with auto transmission.

This particular car received a restoration in the 90's from best I can tell. It ran and was driven till about 2006 when it was sold to the owner before me. That owner never ran it. I got it with plan to fix up but am moving so must sell. I've cranked the motor but not started it.

Car has need of some rust repair in usual places like floorpans and rear motor mounts. A restoration is needed but the foundation is strong and the car has all the options that would warrant the cost/benefit.
