DF-TRANS provides fast and flexible transient processing control for drum kits and percussive loops.
Shaping Transients
The main transient shaping controls for DF-TRANS are contained in the attack and sustain sections of the plugin. Both sections contain a gain knob, x2, clip, and time selector button. The gain knob adds or subtracts gain from the transient and the x2 button doubles the amount of gain being applied by the gain knob. A clip button is used to clip any transient peaks that may reach above zero decibels in the stage that is being worked on. Time selector buttons are used to determine the speed at which DF-TRANS will react to processing the incoming audio transients.
Frequency and External Sidechain.
Along with traditional transient design features, DF-TRANS also contains a filter mode and sidechain section. Filter mode in DF-TRANS is used to insert a high or low pass filter into the detector circuit so that you can target the areas from your sound source which you don't need to effect. The sidechain section contains two different modes which are focus and external mode. Focus mode sets the frequency center for the detection of transients going into the internal sidechain. External mode enables an external sound source to be sidechained into DF-TRANS for the plugin formats that support it. A sidechain listen button is available to listen to the input of the transient detector circuit.
Parallel Processing
The mix knob is used to adjust the balance of the wet/dry processing that is occurring within DF-TRANS.
