You're right that question does get asked a lot! Sometimes I feel like it's a kind of cheap trick that once you figure out how it works it loses it's effect. Makes me hesitate to reveal how I do it. It's fun to think that it's just an effects box you pick up off the shelf in any old music store. Go home, tweak some settings and plug your drums into it... actually that is how it works!
