Sujet Une pétition lancée pour une mise à jour de l'OS

Hi all,

I figure it’s about time I posted something directly to the forum. I’m not trying to be evasive, just overworked.

If you haven’t seen it, I posted a paragraph that sums up my view of the problem on Sonic State’s article about the petition:

"To be honest, a big part of the problem is that I've been so busy with LinnStrument for the past couple of years that I haven't been giving Tempest the attention I should have as designer, and I think that is reflected in problems in the last Tempest update. So I owe Tempest owners an apology. Dave and his guys were already working on a new update, but with the kind assistance of one of the writers of the petition, I've stepped back in to help insure that the next update does what it needs to. I'd love to give you a release date for this update but there are still too many unanswered questions. So the best I can say now is that we're working hard on it and this is very important to me personally.”

The guy I was referring to is forum member John The Savage, who’s been great in helping me reproduce some of the bugs and get back up to speed on the whole problem. Since I stepped back in, I’ve been working closely with Chris (Pym) and Carson. I’ve retested all the known bugs on both the petition and DSI’s internal list, improving documentation and finding steps to reproduce them where needed, prioritizing them from the designer’s overview, testing fixes, and generally trying my best to support Chris in his efforts to fix the bugs.

I can say that this has resulted in fixes for a good number of bugs so far, but I’d prefer to further test them before giving details. My goal is to get a beta out as soon as possible, and I’ll be posting more here as the work progresses.
