En fait, c'est expliqué dans la chanson Hooker with a Penis. Grosso modo (car c'est compliqué de piger le sens de ses textes
), il dit que chanter c'est comme se prostituer. A la différence près que ce n'est pas son corps qu'il vend, mais son âme. Dans Hooker with a Penis, il fait référence à un OGT (Original Gangsta Tool) qu'il a connu et qui lui reprochait de vendre beaucoup d'albums (Undertow s'est vendu à 1.5 millions d'exemplaires je crois) et qui croyait tout connaitre de Tool. En gros Maynard lui répond que "Tout ce que tu sais de moi c'est ce que je t'ai vendu, pauvre connard".
