Citation : Dear Valued E-MU Customer;
Pops and clicks can be caused by many things and is related to many
variables. Most often it is because of poorly written BIOS, incompatible
chipsets, hardware conflicts and/or your PC system not being optimized
for audio.
Make sure that you have optimized your system and XP OS. Check and
download any updates for you BIOS, chipsets, ect..
Check for IRQ conflicts. Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools
- System Information. Expand the Hardware tree and look in IRQ Conflicts
and Sharing. Makes sure in the device column, that E-MU is not in the
list sharing an IRQ. If you are sharing an IRQ, this is often the
cause of many problems. If using an E-MU PCI product, you may be able to
uninstall and reinstall in a different PCI slot. If using an E-MU USB
product and an IRQ conflict is found, you may not be able to anything as
IRQ conflicts are hard wired via your PC BIOS and Windows. In this case,
your E-MU product may just not be compatible with your current PC and
may need to be installed on a different computer.
If you are using an ASIO supported host program or application, you may
need to also change your latency settings within the ASIO control panel.
Too low of a setting will choke the CPU in the system giving poor
performance and results
Make sure that you are not running any programs or applications that
are not audio related such as virus, Internet, messenger, screen savers,
ect...
We would suggest that if have not already done so, optimize your system
and XP. Make sure that you are not running anything that is not directly
audio related such as anti-virus, spyware, Internet connection or
browser, email, chat, messenger, spreadsheet, word processing ect.. as
well as closing any non audio applications that load on startup and/or
reside on your windows task bar or system tray. You may also have an IRQ
conflict or a poorly written system BIOS which are now very common
issues with modern computers in order to reduce product costs.

Puis tu lances ton winamp.
