Following our tradition "Friends First", we offer current SPS-1 owners
tempted by the new UW features to upgrade at a very special price. The
friend upgrade offer is just the price difference between the SPS-1 and the
SPS-1UW, plus shipping. We will offer up to 200 upgrades at this price. But
in order to avoid long service queues we will release the upgrades in turns.

We're aiming at less than two weeks of service time. However we reserve the
need of up to one month service time would we face unexpected inconveniences.
We promise however to do our best to service all units as quickly as we
possibly can!

The price for the upgrade is EUR/USD 400 plus one way shipping to customer
of EUR/USD 40, making a total of EUR/USD 440. The Euro price includes 25%
sales tax as required by European law.

General Information
-------------------

Thank you for ordering the SPS-1 to SPS-1UW upgrade!

We hope that you will enjoy the extra functionality this new flavour of
the Machinedrum will offer.

Unfortunately you will need to separate from your Machinedrum for a few
weeks, while we perform the hardware upgrade to your unit. We will try to
perform this upgrade as quick as possible. We aim at two weeks service
time from receipt of the unit. However in case we face unexpected problems
we might need up to one month. Again, we will try to perform the upgrade
the quickest we possibly can.

Important notice! Your unit will be returned factory default with all user
data erased. If you wish to keep any user data, please back up using MIDI
SYSEX dump before shipping the unit.


Shipping information
--------------------

As you live inside the European Union your service point is the Elektron
HQ, Gothenburg, Sweden.

Your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number is equal to your order
number. You will find your order number in your friend account.

Please follow the instructions below:

*1* Pack your Machinedrum SPS-1 in the original cardboardboxes or
similar. Make sure the unit is very well protected as you answer
for the shipping.

*NOTE* Do not include the power supply unit.

*2* Download, print and fill out the upgrade form and include this in the
package. Available here:

The Upgrade Procedure
---------------------

During the SPS-1UW upgrades the service points of Elektron will be under
heavy preassure. Please refrain from contacting Elektron support unless
you feel it is necessary. You will receive the following information from
your service point:

*1* The day your unit has arrived you will receive a confirmation of this
by email. Expect this within 7 working days from the day you sent your
unit. If we haven't received your unit after 10 working days
(two weeks) after you shipped it we will contact you and ask you to
notify your shipment agent and issue an investigation.

*2* Within 5 working days after receiving your unit you should receive an
estimated date of when we will return your unit.

*3* If we can not keep the estimated date you should receive a note latest
the same date with a new estimation.

*4* When your unit is upgraded and fully tested we will return it and send
you the UPS tracking number.

We aim at returning units shipped back for service latest 10 working days
(two weeks) after receipt, but reserve the right to need a full month as
printed above.

subject as follow: "UW Upgrade #RMA" where #RMA is your RMA/order number.


The SPS-1UW status
------------------

The SPS-1UW operating system has been tested well by Elektron, but is
still regarded to be in beta stage. Therefore it is possible you may
notice some strange behaviour. Your unit will be shipped with OS1.29. The
full OS version will be named OS1.30 and is estimated to be released
before the 1:st of July. Please keep an eye on the support page of the
Machinedrum website as OS updates may be made available.

No new printed users manual is included with the discounted Elektron
Friend offer. You may download it in PDF format as it is completed from
the Machinedrum website. This is also expected to be available before the
1:st of July, approximately at the same time as the full OS1.30.
